Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some
Mistletoe help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

Stay toasty my friendsThe answering message played once again, the familiar sentence repeated inside his skull like a record. He could taste the words, taste the rejection and the denial. Tossing his phone across the room, he watched lazily at it sailed into the darkness. He didn't remember how many days had passed like this. Surrounded by darkness, the sounds of answering machine grating on his hearing time and time again. But the worst part was, he couldn't even remember who called which home.
Days had passed since it had happened. First it was a tickling wind by his ear, raising the hairs on the back of his neck as he wandered through his home. A whispered greeting as he fell asleep. But soon things escalated. Faces in the mirror, stronger voices attempting to converse with him. But that wasn't the worst of it. The worst of it was when the face became his own. A bit darker, the eyes as white as snow, the skin almost translucent, yet as grey as ashes. And soon he couldn't even tell the differe

Originality in Space ArtSpace Art week
One of the most common complaints about space art is that it lacks originality. In this article I want to explore the limitations of this complaint. First we will give it its due, then we will show how that complaint simply reflects a lack of vision. Along the way, we will see how innovation has actually occurred among space artists here on DeviantArt.
Classic Space Art and Originality
When thinking of space art and its lack of originality, a few scenes come to mind. These scenes are often imitated and repeated in a fashion that gives rise to the sense of unoriginality. This suggests that these scenes have been established for a while, and little innovation is taking place. In fact, this 'unoriginality' can often be an homage to classic scenes and ideas. If it is not well done, then 'unoriginality' hangs heavily over the piece, but if done well it is tasteful and the unoriginality is insignificant. The latter I will call 'refinement', whic
Lonely City (Original Song)Watching you wander these streets
Wondering if you know what you see
See your face burning in light
The last reason I have to fight
I'm slowly burning
Help this hurting
Halt my crying
Keep me alive and
How many years have I walked
Marking my outline in chalk
Sitting here, waiting to die
You came here and saved my life
Welcome to my lonely city
The world here looks so lonely
Gray skies above make the world seem empty
What a dark lonely city
How many times have I walked
Listen to the voices, don't stop
You're the last thing for which I still fight
You're the last one to hear me cry
Rubble falls, breaking in streets
Maybe this is all just a dream
Broken down and slowed to a crawl
I had wings but they broke in the fall
What if I were right there with you
Skies would turn from grey to blue
Nobody ever really knew
I really only had you

I got some feedback and saw how gratifying it was share art with others. Actually I've been a member of th
The Raven And The Reindeer"Do you have a name?” asked Gerta.
“I do,” said the raven.
The raven fluffed its beard. “I am the Sound of Mouse Bones Crunching Under the Hooves of God.”
Gerta blinked a few times. “That’s…quite a name.”
“I made it myself,” said the raven, preening. “I stole the very shiniest words and hoarded them all up until they made something worth having. ‘Sound’ and 'God’ were particularly well-guarded. 'Crunching’ I found in a squirrel nest, though."
